SCHOOL PROGRAMS
READING IS WONDER-FUL
Reading Is Wonder-ful is a program for grades K thru 4 that encourages children to find the wonder in reading. Reading can take you all over the World, reading can introduce you to famous persons living and dead, reading can teach you how to do almost anything, and reading can bring you hours of fun and enjoyment.
"Curious George" takes a balloon ride, Bartholomew Cubbins has trouble with his hat, Abraham Lincoln pays a visit, we learn to cook magic candy and Betsy Ross teaches us to make an American flag - with some troubles along the way. The children meet "Bubba the Block Head" and learn about listening and the K thru 2 children help find the "Book Worm" in the library. All during the program, the children are reminded that READING IS WONDER-FUL as water is poured from the jar that never seems to be empty. The program ends with the truth that every book in the library is magic, if we read them, and that reading really is WONDER-FUL! Oh yes, and more water from that empty jar.
The emphasis of the program is on the books and reading; the illusions are a way to grab the children's attention, make some points, and have some fun. Several children and a teacher are directly involved in some of the illusions. The program is about 40 minutes in length. There is a large cost savings when 2 programs are done on the same day in the same school. 1 hour is needed between programs.
